MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) said it has procured chainsaws and electric generators to boost its emergency response capabilities this rainy season.
The onset of the rainy season was officially declared last Monday by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.
“Our director ordered the procurement of initial items to help the DPWH, especially if there are roadblocks, trees or obstructions for example,” PNP-HPG spokesperson Lt. Dhame Malang said in an interview with reporters in Camp Crame on Thursday.
“Nagpa-procure ang ating PNP HPG director… even nga yung mga generators para makatulong dito sa ating mga field offices na maaaring mawalan din ng kuryente,” he added.
