MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) said it will intensify its presence to enforce traffic laws on roads not covered by the No-Contact Apprehension Policy (NCAP).
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) reinstated its No-Contact Apprehension Policy (NCAP) along circumferential and radial roads in the National Capital Region starting May 26.
HPG deployment in non-NCAP zones
“Especially in the areas not covered by the NCAP, the Highway Patrol Group will deploy its personnel to speed up the flow of traffic, vehicles, and our commuters,” PNP HPG spokesperson Lt. Dhame Malang told reporters in Camp Crame on Thursday.
Coordination with MMDA, LTO
The HPG said it is leaving the enforcement of the NCAP to the MMDA and the Land Transportation Office, but noted that the national police’s traffic unit is ready to assist both agencies.

“If there are instances when there’s a need or a violation is escalated or our motorists violate another traffic law, the HPG may assist,” Malang said./mcm
