MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has submitted to the Commission on Appointments his nominees for two Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) posts.
They were Maria Theresa Lazaro as the new DFA secretary, and Pablito Mendoza as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Denmark.
In a press conference in May, Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin said current Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo will be designated as permanent Representative of the Philippines in the United Nations effective August 1.
This followed Marcos’s Cabinet revamp announced days after the midterm elections.
