MANILA, Philippines — On the 127th Philippine Independence Day, Senate President Francis Escudero stressed the need for stronger unity and cooperation among Filipinos amid political issues.
In a statement, Escudero said that unity and collaboration are more crucial than ever, given the current political developments in the country.
“Instead of blaming each other or resorting to division, let us advance healing for a brighter future. More than ever, we must unite to address the needs of our countrymen and promote order and prosperity,” Escudero said.

“Now is the time further to ignite the intensity of our love for our country. Let us come together to promote a nation that is united, caring, and continuously striving towards a Bagong Pilipinas,” he added.
Escudero also honored the heroes who fought for the country’s freedom.
According to him, by waving the Philippine flag and commemorating Independence Day, Filipinos show appreciation for their sacrifices and demonstrate the nation’s continued progress.
“A great challenge for all of us is to be advocates for our freedom, future, and history. Let us start with simple ways like respecting each other, giving opportunities to our neighbors, and continuing to stand up for a brighter tomorrow,” he added./mcm
