MANILA, Philippines 鈥� On the 127th Philippine Independence Day, Senate President Francis Escudero stressed the need for stronger unity and cooperation among Filipinos amid political issues.

In a statement, Escudero said that unity and collaboration are more crucial than ever, given the current political developments in the country.

鈥淚nstead of blaming each other or resorting to division, let us advance healing for a brighter future. More than ever, we must unite to address the needs of our countrymen and promote order and prosperity,鈥� Escudero said.

Escudero also honored the heroes who fought for the country鈥檚 freedom.
