PNP DEG seizes more than P33-M drugs in May 2025 operations

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP DEG) said it seized P33.03-million worth of illegal drugs in May 2025.
Data released by the PNP DEG on Thursday showed that the police unit confiscated 75,000 pieces of marijuana plants; 3,000 grams of dried marijuana leaves; and 2,598.50 grams of shabu (crystal meth) across the country.
The seizures were the result of 52 anti-illegal drug operations last May, PNP DEG detailed.
Of the 52 operations, 40 were buy-bust operations; seven were arrest warrant operations; three were search warrant operations; and two were marijuana eradication operations.

Further, PNP DEG said the operations yielded the arrest of 59 suspects.
Of the 59 suspects, 41 were identified as “high-value individuals;” 11 were “street-level” individuals; and seven were wanted persons./mr
