Man wounds cop with kitchen knife in ʲñܱ City
MANILA, Philippines — A man struck a police officer in the head and chest with a kitchen knife during an incident in Parañaque City.
The incident took place after Staff Sgt. Carlo Navarro and other law enforcement officers responded to a report of a public disturbance along Creek Drive 1, Valley 8 on Friday morning, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said in a statement on Saturday.
Navarro, the PNP said, was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital and after receiving proper care, he is now in stable condition and recovering at home.
The PNP detailed that upon confronting the suspect, the latter suddenly drew a kitchen knife and launched a brutal attack, striking PSSg Navarro in the head and chest,” the PNP detailed.

The other officers managed to restrain the suspect and take him into police custody.
The PNP further said the suspect will face a complaint for alarms and scandals, direct assault, attempted murder, and illegal possession of bladed, pointed or blunt weapons before the Parañaque City Prosecutor’s Office. /cb
