MANILA, Philippines — Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar tendered his courtesy resignation on Thursday.
This followed President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive for courtesy resignations from all Cabinet secretaries, in a bid to recalibrate his administration after the midterm elections
“In light of the president’s pronouncement calling for the courtesy resignations of his Cabinet secretaries, I hereby humbly submit my resignation as secretary of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development,” Acuzar said in a letter to Marcos on Thursday.
“I am wholeheartedly grateful for the trust and the chance to serve our fellow countrymen to the best of my ability. Expect that I will continue to support the programs of this administration toward a New Philippines,” he added.
The order for all Cabinet secretaries to resign allows Marcos to assess each department’s performance and decide who will remain at their posts in line with the administration’s recalibrated priorities.
