MANILA, Philippines — Senator-elect Bam Aquino took his oath of office on Friday in his hometown in Tarlac province, his camp announced in a statement.
Concepcion Mayor Noel Villanueva administered Aquino’s oath of office during a ceremony at the town’s government center, with Tarlac 1st District Rep. Jaime Cojuangco and 3rd District Rep. Bong Rivera also in attendance.
“When we were being called the ‘gentleman from Tarlac’ during our time in the Senate was a really proud moment, and we want to bring that back. That’s why, honestly, I couldn’t think of a better place to take my oath than here in Concepcion and Tarlac,” Aquino said.
