3 hurt in five-vehicle collision in Albay

LIGAO CITY — Three individuals were injured in a five-vehicle collision along the Maharlika Highway in Daraga, Albay Wednesday, May 28, police said.
Police Lt. Col. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, in a private message to Inquirer, said an Isuzu fuel tanker lost control and crashed into four stationary vehicles that had stopped due to heavy traffic in Purok (zone) 3, Barangay (village) Busay at around 1:46 p.m.

“The driver of the motorcycle and his unidentified female passenger sustained injuries after being trapped under the tanker, while a passenger from a car also sustained injuries,” Calubaquib said.
The victims were transported to the Bicol Regional Hospital and Medical Center for treatment, she added.
