MANILA, Philippines — Newly appointed Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Henry Rhoel Aguda on Thursday said he will submit his courtesy resignation in compliance with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s order.
“President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive urging all Cabinet secretaries to submit their courtesy resignations underscores his firm commitment to fast-track projects that uplift the lives of Filipinos,” Aguda said in a statement.
“We stand by the President and serve at his pleasure. We will continue to work to deliver his mandate for the Filipino people,” he added.

Marcos’ order was a move to recalibrate his administration following the results of the national and local elections.
“This is not business as usual,” the President said, as quoted in a press release from the Presidential ɫTV Desk.
“The people have spoken, and they expect results — not politics, not excuses. We hear them, and we will act,” he added.
Marcos further said, “It’s time to realign government with the people’s expectations.”
Aguda was appointed by Marcos as head of the DICT just last March, replacing Ivan Uy. /das
