MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has approved the release of over P1.4 billion for the implementation and monitoring of the ‘PAyapa at MAsaganang PamayaNAn’ (PAMANA) program.
The initiative is being run by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
It includes small-scale projects to help rebuild conflict-affected areas, support peace efforts, and aid in community developments.

The budget for the program comes from the DSWD’s Specific Budget contained in the General Appropriations Act for the fiscal year 2025.
“We immediately approved the release of SARO, amounting to P1.4 billion, for the implementation of the PAMANA Program, as we fully support President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s peace and national development agenda,” Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman said.
She is being quoted from a press release issued on Wednesday.
“It’s important for the PAMANA program to continue because it supports the long-term development of the localities, especially the vulnerable communities in the country,” she added.

The PAMANA program is implemented in two tracks: The Peace and Development Project and the Local Government Unit (LGU)-Led Livelihood Track.
DBM said the development project seeks to help people in conflict and vulnerable areas and the indigenous communities through improved access to basic services.
Meanwhile, the livelihood track aims to improve the socio-economic condition of the beneficiaries.
