LUCENA CITY — More than P578,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) and two illegal firearms were seized from three suspects in police operations on Friday and Saturday (May 16 and 17) in Cavite and Rizal provinces.
The Region 4A police reported that police operatives in Indang, Cavite arrested “Florgil” at 10:40 p.m. on Friday after he sold an undocumented caliber .45 pistol loaded with eight bullets for P27,000 to a poseur buyer in Barangay (village) Mataas na Lupa.
During routine frisking, the cops also found the suspect in alleged possession of 11 sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 55 grams worth P374,000.
In Tanay, Rizal, anti-illegal drug operatives nabbed “Josary” and “Bogy” in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Plaza Aldea at 2 a.m. Saturday.
The operatives seized from the suspects six sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 30 grams valued at P204,000.
The operatives also caught Josary carrying an undocumented caliber .38 revolver with three bullets.
The police are conducting investigations to determine the source of the firearms and the illegal drugs.
They would subject the confiscated firearms to ballistic and cross-matching examinations to determine if these were used in past crime incidents.
All suspects are under police custody and will face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Florgil and Josary will also face a case for illegal possession of firearms and violation of the election gun ban./coa
