MANILA, Philippines — San Jose in Occidental Mindoro and 27 other areas across the country are forecast to experience heat indices under the “dangerous” level on Saturday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
In its updated bulletin, Pagasa said that San Jose, Occidental Mindoro is expected to hit the highest heat index with 45°C. Pagasa noted that the same area recorded the highest heat index on Friday at 47°C.
Under the “dangerous” category, heat index ranges from 42° to 51°C and may cause heat cramps and heat exhaustion. Meanwhile, continued exposure to the sun may lead to heat stroke.
