383 road traffic incidents, DOH reports
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) recorded 383 cases of road traffic incidents during the Holy Week break from April 13 to April 19, five resulting in deaths in motorcycle accidents.
The number of cases was 32 percent lower compared with last year’s Holy Week figures.

Of the recorded accidents, 85 percent involved riders and passengers not using safety accessories, such as helmets and fastened seat belts.
Almost eight out of 10 of the cases involved motorcycles. Thirty-one cases involved drunk driving. —Dexter Cabalza
