LUCENA CITY — Police anti-narcotic agents in Rizal province on Saturday and Sunday (April 19 and 20) seized more than P1.4 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) from five arrested drug suspects.

Colonel Felipe Maraggun, Rizal police director, said in a report that a team of operatives in San Mateo town nabbed “Paula,” “Mani,” and “John,” after they sold shabu to an undercover cop in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Malanday around 4:49 a.m. on Saturday.

The suspect yielded six plastic sachets and one knot-tied plastic containing suspected shabu weighing 193.47 grams worth P1,315,596.

In Taytay town, local drug enforcers held “Angab” and “Johnrey” at 12:10 a.m. Sunday in a sting operation in Barangay Sta. Ana, the Region 4A police said in another report.

The duo was caught in alleged possession of four sachets of suspected meth worth P170,000.

All arrested suspects, except John who is a minor, were detained and will face the charge of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

John was placed under the custody of the local social welfare office for proper disposition.
