Farmer shot dead by drinking buddy in Masbate

LEGAZPI CITY — A 34-year-old farmer was shot and killed Saturday night during a drinking binge in Cataingan, Masbate, a police report said Sunday.

Police Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol regional police spokesperson, identified the victim as Ryan Legazpino of Barangay San Isidro.

The suspect was identified as Mark Joseph Lobetaña, 32, a carpenter and resident of Barangay Banco in Palanas town.

Case investigators said that a heated argument broke out during the drinking binge between the victim and suspect.

Lobetaña drew his gunnd shot Legazpino, at around 8:45p.m.

The victim died while being taken to the Cataingan District Hospital.

The suspect has fled and remains at large. A manhunt is ongoing.
