Teacher gunned down in Ecija as she stood in front of her house

SAN LEONARDO, Nueva Ecija–A female teacher was killed in a gun attack in front of her house in this town on Sunday (June 14), police said.

Julieta Hementera, a resident of Magpapalayok village, was standing near the door of her house when two unidentified motorcycle-riding assailants shot her at close range around 8 p.m., investigators said.

Police said the teacher suffered multiple gunshot wounds and the suspects fled toward the village of Adorable in the same town.

The victim was rushed to Gonzales General Hospital where she was declared dead.

Forensic investigators recovered five empty shells of a .9mm-caliber pistol and two deformed slugs.

Police are now reviewing security footage from a nearby establishment to identify and arrest the suspects.
