MANILA, Philippines — Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) campaign manager Sara Duterte-Carpio on Thursday vowed not to be complacent despite the dominance of their senatorial bets in a recent pre-election survey.”

HNP officers and volunteers are humbled that all the sleepless nights, tiring long travels, arguments, fatigue, and obsessive brainstorming have resulted in something positive,” the Davao City mayor said in a statement.

“But we cannot be happy until after the winners are proclaimed, so we shall continue to soar and fight until we succeed,” she added.

The Presidential daughter issued the statement after nine of HNP candidates were included in the probable winners of the May 13 elections according to a Pulse Asia survey released Thursday.

Duterte-Carpio said the “good performance” of the HNP-supported senatorial candidates in the surveys is a “strong indication that the candidates are effective in delivering the message of ‘positive change.’”

The regional party leader apparently took another swipe on opposition candidates’ supposed “negative campaigning.”

“We are pushing a different kind of campaigning, something that does not involve maligning or attacking other candidates, and we think the voters agree with us,” Duterte-Carpio said.
