Alleged recruiter of OFW found dead inside Kuwait freezer yields to PNP
The alleged recruiter of slain overseas Filipino worker (OFW) Joanna Demafelis has voluntarily surrendered to the Philippine National Police-Crime Detection and Investigation Group (PNP-CIDG).
The alleged recruiter, identified as Agnes Tuballes, is now under the custody of the PNP and will be presented to the media this morning, Radyo Inquirer reported on Thursday.
Demafelis’ body was found stuffed inside a freezer in an abandoned apartment in Kuwait last February. Officials believed that Demafelis’ cadaver had been inside the freezer for over a year.
The death of Demafelis prompted President Rodrigo Duterte to order a total deployment ban of Filipino workers to Kuwait. /kga
