At least 1 killed as explosion hits Bocaue firecracker store

CITY OF SAN JOSE DEL MONTE, Bulacan—One person was killed, while 8 others were hurt in a Wednesday morning (Oct. 12) blast at a row of stores that sell pyrotechnics in Bocaue town, according to an initial report from Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr., Bulacan police director.

Identities of the lone fatality and the injured have not been released at press time. The police have not yet determined what caused the 9 a.m. blast that damaged six vehicles along the road in Binang 1st village.

Bocaue is considered the center for pyrotechnic merchandises, because of numerous stores that sell firecrackers.
