TAGBILARAN CITY – Customers of the will get cheaper electricity bills this June as the power distributor cut the rates by 75 centavos per kilowatt hour (kWh).
The electricity distributor announced on Monday, June 16, that from P11.07/kWh in May, Bohol Light’s average residential rate will drop to P10.32/kWh this June billing cycle, providing much-needed relief for Tagbilaranons coping with the rising cost of daily necessities.
For an average household consuming 200 kWh per month, this translates to a savings of around P150.
“This rate reduction is our way of easing the burden on our consumers, especially at a time when every peso counts,” said Bohol Light in a statement.
“We understand the challenges faced by families and small businesses, and we remain committed to delivering affordable, reliable, and quality power,” it added.
The good news also extends to commercial customers, with average rates for Low-Voltage and High-Voltage consumers set at P9.77/ and P9.74/kWh, respectively.
The lower rates are mainly due to a decrease in the generation charges resulting from strategic and efficient energy management of Bohol Light.
A significant reduction in transmission charges contributed to the rate adjustment.
Ancillary Services and Reserve Market charges dropped by 9.8 percent and 16.3 percent respectively, further lowering the cost of electricity for end-users.
Bohol Light emphasized its ongoing dedication to serving the community beyond delivering electricity.
“At Bohol Light, we’re not just powering homes — we support lives. We work tirelessly to manage our resources and market opportunities to pass on savings to our valued consumers,” the company said.
