School executive in Maguindanao shooting died
COTABATO CITY — A ranking official of the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MBHTE-BARMM) died on Wednesday, June 11, hours after he was shot while taking his lunch in a roadside restaurant in Rajah Buayan, Maguindanao del Sur.
Captain Argie Eyana, police chief of Rajah Buayan, said Alamansa Ambiton, district supervisor and designated principal of Sapakan Central Elementary School, succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds while undergoing medication in an undisclosed hospital.
Ambiton, a resident of Barangay Barurao, Sultan Sa Barongis, Maguidanao del Sur, sustained gunshot wounds in different parts of his body after an unidentified man attacked him.

Despite his injuries, Ambiton managed to flag down a tricycle that brought him to a police station about a kilometer away.
Policemen manning the checkpoint immediately rushed Ambiton to the hospital, according to Eyana.
Ambiton remained conscious as of Tuesday evening but didn’t survive the following day, according to Eyana.
Police probers recovered five empty shells and three fired slugs of unknown caliber of firearms at the crime scene.
