MANILA, Philippines 鈥� National Security Adviser Eduardo A帽o will remain in President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.鈥檚 Cabinet as long as his health allows, a Palace official said on Tuesday.
At a Palace briefing, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro was asked for an update on A帽o鈥檚 courtesy resignation.

鈥淭he President agrees that he [A帽o] can continue to do the fine job he has been doing; maaaring manatili si Sec. A帽o hangga鈥檛 kakayanin ng kanyang kalusugan (Sec. A帽o may stay on as long as his health permits),鈥� Casteo replied.
Castro added that A帽o has been dealing with health issues since the pandemic but agreed to stay in the National Security Council.
On May 22, Marcos called for the courtesy resignation of all Cabinet members as part of his effort to recalibrate his administration following the results of the recent midterm elections.
鈥淭he people have spoken, and they expect results 鈥� not politics, not excuses. We hear them, and we will act,鈥� he said.
Marcos further said, 鈥淚t鈥檚 time to realign government with the people鈥檚 expectations.鈥�
