MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Robin Padilla confirmed on Monday that he has also drafted a separate resolution seeking the dismissal of the impeachment case against Vice President Sara Duterte.
So far, Padilla said he is the only author of the resolution but he is hoping to get the support of his colleagues, especially from the so-called Duterte bloc.
“It was just me, it was just my resolution,” he told reporters in Filipino.
Asked if his resolution would be included in the draft resolution of Sen. Ronald dela Rosa, Padilla said: “I’m still waiting for them.”
Dela Rosa earlier owned up to a draft resolution, declaring the “de facto dismissal of the impeachment case against Duterte.

Although he refused to discuss the content of his resolution, Padilla answered “of course” when asked if it was also seeking the dismissal of the impeachment case against Duterte.
He also denied there was a concerted effort from the known allies of Duterte and her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte Duterte, to stop the impeachment bid against the Vice President.
“We’re for Duterte,” Padilla said, “Isn’t that clear? Even if you burn me right here, I’d still reek of Rodrigo Roa Duterte, right? But my draft has nothing to do with the draft of this person or that person. It’s mine — my own.” /das
