Thunderstorm advisory for Metro Manila, 11 other Luzon areas – Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — Thunderstorms will likely develop in Metro Manila and 11 other Luzon areas on Monday afternoon, according to the state weather service.

In its 12:32 p.m. advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Metro Manila and the following areas will experience moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds within the next two to three hours:

“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards, which include flash floods and landslides,” Pagasa said.

Earlier, the state weather bureau reported that the southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat, will continue to affect the western parts of Luzon and Visayas.

Meanwhile, parts of Mindanao will also experience isolated or scattered rain showers with occasional lightning and thunder due to habagat./mr
