MANILA, Philippines —  President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Monday renewed his promise to support public school teachers and reduce their administrative tasks.

In a brief message to teachers at Tibagan Elementary School in San Miguel, Bulacan, after leading the kick-off of Brigada Eskwela 2025, Marcos praised and called the educators “true heroes.”

“Our teachers are doing well. Maybe they just lack support. We will support you,” Marcos said in Filipino.

“Not only  financially, but also in retraining. We are reducing administrative duties, those kinds of things, so that you can focus on teaching,” he added.

Marcos, along with Education Secretary Sonny Angara, witnessed the installation of a brand-new Smart television in the school.

Prior to that, they also visited Barihan Elementary School in Malolos City, where they checked the proposed construction plans for the flood-prone school.

They also joined parent-volunteers in installing a brand-new blackboard in one of the classrooms.

These activities in both schools were all part of the preparation for the upcoming start of school year 2025-2026 on June 16.
