MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila and other areas in Luzon are expected to experience thunderstorms on Sunday afternoon, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Based on its 4:23 p.m. thunderstorm advisory, Pagasa warned the public that moderate to heavy rainfall with lightning and strong winds are expected in Metro Manila and the following areas in the next two hours:
- Nueva Ecija
- Bataan
- Bulacan
- Cavite
- Pampanga
Meanwhile, the areas below are having a downpour, which may persist for two hours and affect nearby areas:
- Zambales (Castillejos, San Marcelino, San Antonio, San Narciso, San Felipe, Cabangan, Botolan, Masinloc, Palauig), Tarlac(San Jose, Capas)
- Rizal (Cardona, Binangonan, Jala-Jala, Pililla, Tanay)
- Laguna (Santa Maria, Mabitac, Pakil)
- Quezon (General Nakar, Tagkawayan)

“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards, which include flash floods and landslides,” the state weather bureau said. /mr
