Both designations were effective beginning June 4.
Torre was appointed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. as the new PNP chief last May 29, replacing Police Gen. Rommel Marbil, who reached the mandatory retirement age of 56 on February 7.
Marcos extended Marbil’s term for four more months to maintain the stability of the organization during the May 2025 elections./apl
