CA OKs appointment of Dizon as transportation chief

MANILA, Philippines — The powerful Commission on Appointments (CA) approved on Wednesday the appointment of Vince Dizon as the secretary of the Department of Transportation (DOTr).
This development came after the CA panel on transportation recommended the plenary approval of Dizon’s post.

In February, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. appointed Dizon as the secretary of the Department of Transportation, replacing Jaime Bautista, who had resigned for health reasons.

Before he was appointed transportation chief, Dizon, who served in several government posts during the term of former President Rodrigo Duterte, served as the chief regulatory officer of Prime Infrastructure Capital Inc. of gaming and ports tycoon Enrique Razon Jr.
Dizon last served in government as president and chief executive officer of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority.
He was among the Cabinet members who earlier submitted their courtesy resignation in compliance with the order of President Marcos, who sought a review of the performance of his officials./coa
