UP-Diliman tops May 2025 CPA licensure exam
MANILA, Philippines — The University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman is the top performing school on the May 2025 Certified Public Accountants Licensure Exam (CPALE) after all of its aspiring accountants passed the exam.
Based on the results of May 2025 CPALE released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Tuesday, the UP Diliman obtained a 100 percent passing rate.
The top notcher in last month’s CPALE, John Elrich Ramirez Gamboa, was also from UP Diliman. He achieved a score of 92.67 percent.

The UP Diliman was followed by Bicol University – Daraga after garnering an 88.33 percent passing rate.
PRC said the UP Diliman and Bicol University-Daraga were the only schools who had 50 or more examinees passed and with at least 80% overall passing percentage.
The two universities both had a total of 60 examinees.
The May 2025 CPALE was held from May 25 to 27 at testing centers in Metro Manila, Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga.
Out of the total 9,533 aspirants, 33.11 percent or 3,156 examinees passed the exam.
