MANILA, Philippines 鈥 A package containing suspected shabu (crystal meth) worth P6.85 million was intercepted at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) on Monday, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said on Tuesday.
Authorities also arrested its recipient, a 28-year-old woman identified as 鈥淩uth,鈥 PDEA said.
鈥淭he seized package was declared as 鈥榣adies鈥 wear and bags鈥 and was shipped from Ontario, Canada. The suspect, who was listed as the consignee, claimed she was unaware that the parcel contained illegal drugs,鈥 the agency said.
Inside the package were several transparent plastic bags wrapped in foil and cling wrap, each containing a kilogram of shabu, the PDEA said.
Authorities also recovered a mobile phone, a notification card to claim the package, and several identification cards, one of which bore the recipient鈥檚 name and others under supposedly fake identities.

The suspect is in the custody of law enforcement and is awaiting charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Dangerous Drugs Act./mcm
