PNP gearing up for peaceful, high-turnout BARMM polls
MANILA, Philippines — New Philippine National Police chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III ion Monday said the PNP is gearing up for and looking forward to a peaceful Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) parliamentary elections in October.
“As of now, we’re involved in the preparations. We’ll look at it,” Torre said in a press briefing after a formal turnover ceremony at Camp Crame in Quezon City Monday morning.
“We’ll ensure that we will finish that exercise just like the previous election, which was peaceful, had no failure of elections, and a high turnout,” Torre added.

The PNP reported that the May 12, 2025, national and local elections were “generally peaceful.”
Further, the Commission on Elections declared no failure of elections and a record-high 81.65-percent turnout rate.
