MANILA, Philippines — New Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III maintained that the agency is still “all out” in tracking down wanted persons.
Torre said this in a press briefing after taking command of the PNP on Monday, when asked about manhunts for high-profile suspects like former Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) chief Gerald Bantag, who is accused of killing radio broadcaster Percival Lapid.
“We’re really all out on our operations against wanted persons. We’re continuous in that regard. It’s a matter of time before we get them,” Torre said in Filipino. He said he was not only pertaining to Bantag.
“We’ll reexamine the baseline that we have, what we know about these people. We’ll focus on these. We are really very committed to ensuring that these people hiding from the law will be brought to justice” the new PNP chief stressed.
