LUCENA CITY — A 68-year-old farmer was killed on Friday, May 30, in Pagbilao town, Quezon province, because of an old grudge, the police said.
In a report on Saturday, May 31, Quezon police said that the victim, identified as “Rogel,” was walking alone in a remote area in Barangay Ibabang Polo at around 11:30 a.m. when he was repeatedly hacked with a bolo by an alias “Nemisio,” a 72-year-old farmer, without provocation.
The suspect escaped after the incident.
The victim died while being taken to a government hospital in this city.
The police said the incident was motivated by an “old grudge” between the suspect and the victim, which was being mediated at the barangay office.
