MANILA, Philippines — A heat index of 45° was forecast in Dipolog, Zamboanga del Norte on Saturday, May 31, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
This heat index is in the “danger” category, which is between 42 and 51°C; and may cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
Ten other areas were projected to experience a “dangerous” heat index on Saturday:

Meanwhile, Pagasa’s monitoring stations in Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) in Pasay City (39°) and the Science Garden in Quezon City (36°) projected a heat index in the “extreme caution” category on Saturday.
The “extreme caution” category is between 33 and 41°.
