Expect moderate to heavy rain in Rizal, Pampanga, Batangas, Laguna

MANILA, Philippines — Provinces of Rizal, Pampanga, Batangas, and Laguna may experience moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds over the next two hours, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
In an advisory issued at 2 p.m., Pagasa said thunderstorms are expected to affect the aforementioned areas.

“The above conditions are being experienced in Zambales (Iba, Palauig, Botolan, Cabangan), Bataan (Morong), Quezon (Buenavista) and Nueva Ecija (Bongabon, Gabaldon) which may persist within 2 hours and may affect nearby areas,” said Pagasa.
“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” it added.

In its early morning forecast, the state weather bureau said the southwesterly wind flow is affecting the western section of Luzon. Meanwhile, the frontal system affects the eastern section of northern Luzon. /jpv
