Quezon City Police District
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Quezon City local government signed a memorandum of agreement for a daycare center for officers’ children in the law enforcement agency’s national headquarters.
PNP Chief Gen. Rommel Marbil, his wife and PNP Officers’ Ladies Club (OLC) Foundation head Mary Rose Marbil; and Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte led the signing ceremony at the Quezon City Hall on Thursday morning.
“The goal here is for an agreement for our child development center, a daycare, for the children of our police officers. That’s inside Camp Crame,” Belmonte, speaking in Filipino, said in a chance interview with reporters on Thursday.
The Quezon City mayor detailed that the OLC Foundation provided the facility, while the local government provided the teachers, curricula, learning materials and uniforms for the children in the center.
“It’s a big deal for us in Quezon City that we’re able to help the families of our police officers because they are our partners in the safety of our communities,” Belmonte added.

Also in the interview, Marbil cited the agreement for the daycare center as part of the law enforcement agency’s efforts for personnel, touting legal and medical aid for police officers during his tenure as PNP chief.
“Just go to battle, we’ll take care of your families and this is proof that we’ll also take care of the kids. Not only our employees, but their families also,” Marbil said.
The PNP’s regional offices are also expected to enter into agreements with their respective local governments to arrange for a daycare center for their personnel’s children, according to Mary Rose Marbil in the interview as well./mr
