MANILA, Philippines — The Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) resumed operations at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon after earlier suspending trips following a magnitude 4.6 earthquake that jolted parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila.

According to the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC), a “stop for safety” was imposed from LRT-1’s Dr. Santos station in Parañaque City to Fernando Poe Jr. station in Quezon City at 12:30 p.m.

“Our team is currently conducting safety checks at the stations, following standard protocol, to assess any potential effects of the recent earthquake,” the LRMC said in an advisory after suspending operations.

The magnitude 4.6 earthquake hit General Nakar, Quezon on Tuesday afternoon at exactly 12:17 p.m., according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.

The epicenter was located 24 kilometers (km) northwest of General Nakar, was tectonic in origin and had a depth of focus of 10 kilometers.
