LUCENA CITY — Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives dismantled early Saturday, May 24, an alleged drug den and arrested four suspects in this capital city of Quezon province.
A report posted by PDEA Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) on its Facebook page said that PDEA agents, assisted by other law enforcers, raided the suspected drug den in Barangay (village) Cotta.
The operation conducted past midnight led to the arrest of “Bakla,” 27, a laborer; “Epoy,” 32, a construction worker; “Loloy,” 38, a construction worker; and “Aira,” 37, a fish vendor, all residents of the village.
The raiders seized seven sealed plastic sachets containing 15 grams of suspected shabu (crystal meth) worth P104,040 and assorted drug-sniffing paraphernalia.
The report did not identify the drug den maintainer among the arrested suspects.
The operation was conducted as part of the intensified efforts to prevent the entry and proliferation of illegal drugs in the island province of Marinduque, the PDEA-Mimaropa said in its post.
The four suspects were detained, and cases of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them. /das
