MANILA, Philippines — A 16-year-old girl has escaped a tricycle driver who forcibly took her to an Antipolo City hotel, a report from the Police Regional Office Calabarzon (PRO 4A) said.
The incident took place early morning of May 7, but it was reported to the police by the victim’s mother on Friday, according to the police report.
Police said the victim had come from a party at her employer’s house when she hailed a tricycle to take her home, but the driver took off in another direction.
The tricycle driver continued driving the opposite way until they reached a hotel along Sumulong Highway in Barangay Mambugan, Antipolo City.
“At that juncture, the suspect alighted from his tricycle and went to the cashier. The victim followed the suspect and told the cashier that she didn’t know the suspect. The suspect immediately left the place of incident,” the police report detailed.
Authorities said the victim then informed her family, who would later review closed-circuit television footage that helped them identify the tricycle driver.
