Sultan Kudarat province has 3 confirmed Mpox cases
ISULAN, Sultan Kudarat — Three individuals tested positive for the Monkeypox (Mpox) virus, the provincial health office confirmed on Friday.
Sultan Kudarat Gov. Datu Pax Ali Mangudadatu said two cases were from Tacurong City and another from Bagumbayan town.
“They are now in stable condition,” Mangudadatu said, citing reports from local health workers.
He added that individuals who had close contact with the three patients are now in “self-isolation,” with their conditions currently under observation.
“All patients were promptly notified by their respective local health offices and are currently undergoing recovery in home isolation,” the Sultan Kudarat provincial health office (IPHO) said in a statement Friday.
IPHO urged all the residents “to self-isolate and immediately contact their respective health officials” should symptoms be visible.
According to the IPHO, health frontliners are closely coordinating efforts and have begun implementing necessary public health measures to contain and prevent further transmission of the virus.
The detection of three new Mpox cases in Sultan Kudarat followed the confirmation of 10 infections in neighboring South Cotabato, where six additional cases are also under suspicion./mcm
