Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Jay Ruiz
MANILA, Philippines — Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Jay Ruiz has filed his courtesy resignation, in compliance with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s order issued on Thursday morning.
“With utmost respect, I tender my courtesy resignation as Secretary of the Presidential Communications Office in view of the ongoing recalibration of government efforts under your leadership,” Ruiz said in a letter addressed to Marcos.

“I humbly submit this resignation to give you a free hand in reorganizing your team as needed to pursue your people-centered vision for the country,” Ruiz added.
Earlier in the day, Marcos ordered all Cabinet secretaries to submit their courtesy resignation as part of his administration’s revamp following the results of the national and local elections.
“This is not business as usual,” the President said, as quoted in a press release from the Presidential ɫTV Desk.
“The people have spoken, and they expect results — not politics, not excuses. We hear them, and we will act,” he added.
Marcos further said, “It’s time to realign government with the people’s expectations.”
Prior to this, speculations about Ruiz’s alleged unsatisfactory performance have been surfacing online. The PCO did not comment on the matter.
