MANILA, Philippines — Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella III tendered his courtesy resignation on Thursday, following President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s call for all Cabinet secretaries to submit courtesy resignations as part of his administration’s recalibration after the midterm elections.
“Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella III promptly submitted his courtesy resignation following President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s call,” the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) said in a statement.
The order for all Cabinet secretaries to resign allows Marcos to assess each department’s performance and decide who will remain at their posts in line with the administration’s recalibrated priorities.
“I fully support the president’s directive for Cabinet officials to submit their courtesy resignations. It is a clear demonstration of leadership aimed at further strengthening governance and ensuring that the administration delivers its promises to the Filipino people,” Estrella said.
“As a member of the president’s official family, I serve at his pleasure. My duty is to give nothing less than my best in helping him realize his vision for the nation,” he added.
Estrella had served as DAR secretary since June 2022.
