5 drug suspects yield P552,000 worth of shabu, 3 guns in Calabarzon
LUCENA CITY, Philippines — Police in Cavite, Laguna and Quezon provinces arrested five suspected drug pushers on Wednesday, May 21, and seized more than P552,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) along with three unlicensed firearms, authorities said.
The Police Regional Office 4A reported Thursday that anti-narcotics operatives in Dasmariñas City, Cavite, arrested three suspects identified only as “Shinedel,” “Floyd,” and “Julius” after selling P500 worth of shabu to a poseur buyer in Barangay Datu Esmael around 8 p.m.
Authorities recovered four plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 70 grams with an estimated value of P476,000, based on the Dangerous Drugs Board valuation. Also seized were an undocumented .22-caliber pistol with two bullets and a mobile phone, which will be examined for potential drug-related information.
Police classified Shinedel and Floyd as high-value individuals (HVIs), typically identified as traffickers, financiers, or members of drug groups. Julius was tagged as a street-level pusher.
In Santa Cruz, Laguna, police arrested “Sergio,” a known street-level pusher, during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Bagumbayan around 11 p.m.
Recovered from Sergio were three sachets of suspected shabu worth P66,600 and an unlicensed .45-caliber pistol loaded with six bullets. Police also impounded a motorcycle allegedly used in his drug transactions.
In Pagbilao town, Quezon province, local police apprehended a street-level pusher identified as “Joshua” in a sting operation at 11:55 p.m. in Barangay Pinagbayan.
Joshua was allegedly found in possession of a .38-caliber revolver with three bullets and sachets of suspected shabu valued at P10,268.
All five suspects are in police custody and will be charged with violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, illegal possession of firearms, and the Omnibus Election Code.
