MANILA, Philippines — Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman on Thursday said she will submit her courtesy resignation in compliance with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s order.
“I will submit my resignation,” she said in a brief statement.
“We all serve at the pleasure of the President. I support all of his decisions, knowing that they are always made with the best interest of the Filipino people in mind,” Pangandaman also said.
She added that all Cabinet secretaries “stand firmly” with Marcos as he “steers the nation and our economy forward with integrity, transparency, courage, and compassion.”

Marcos announced this earlier in the day as a bold move to recalibrate his administration following the results of the midterm elections.
“This is not business as usual,” the President said, as quoted in a press release from the Presidential ɫTV Desk.
“The people have spoken, and they expect results — not politics, not excuses. We hear them, and we will act,” he added.
Marcos further said, “It’s time to realign government with the people’s expectations.” /das
