‘Dangerous’ heat index forecast for Dagupan, Aparri, 35 areas

MANILA, Philippines — Dagupan City in Pangasinan, Aparri in Cagayan, and 35 other areas in the country are forecast to experience the dangerous category of heat index on Wednesday, according to the state weather bureau.
In its updated bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said that Dagupan City and Aparri are set to peak at the highest heat index at 46°C. On Tuesday, Dagupan City recorded the highest heat index at 48°C.

Areas under the dangerous category are expected to reach a heat index from 42°C to 51°C. Under this category, heat exhaustion and heat cramps are possible, while continued exposure to the sun can lead to heatstroke.
