Rains hound over 192,000 Maguindanao del Sur residents – NDRRMC

 Rains hound Maguindanao del Sur folk MANILA, Philippines – Rain showers triggered by the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) have affected 192,005 individuals or 38,689 families in Maguindanao del Sur, the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) reported on Tuesday. READ: LPA spotted southeast of PalawanThe NDRRMC added that 890 persons from 178 families stayed inside evacuation centers, while 191,115 others from 38,511 families stayed outside evacuation centers.

A total of 89 areas have been flooded in Maguindanao del Sur as of May 18.

Three houses were also reported to have been destroyed in the municipality of Ampatuan.

Two road sections and one bridge were also rendered impassable as of May 17.

Pagasa’s latest weather forecast shows that the effects of the ITCZ will still prevail in Mindanao, Western Visayas, and the Negros Island region.

Overcast skies and rain are expected in those areas.
