MANILA, Philippines — Three weather systems will bring overcast skies and rain showers in most parts of the country on Wednesday night, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
In an afternoon forecast, Pagasa said the frontal system will mainly affect some parts of Luzon, the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will prevail in parts of Mindanao and Visayas, while the rest of the country will experience the effects of easterlies.
“The frontal system will bring cloudy skies and scattered rain showers with thunderstorms over the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon. Meanwhile, we can expect that the ITCZ will bring rain over Mindanao and Southern Leyte,” Pagasa weather specialist Veronica Torres said.
“In Metro Manila and the rest of the country, partly cloudy to cloudy skies are expected with the possibility of localized thunderstorms,” she added.
Although these areas experienced hot and humid weather this morning, Torres said localized thunderstorms will prevail in the afternoon until night.
Meanwhile, Pagasa said no low-pressure area or weather disturbances were monitored inside and outside the country’s area of responsibility./MR
