MANILA, Philippines — Most parts of the country will have scattered rain showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday night due to two weather systems, according to the state weather bureau.
In an afternoon forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the frontal system will mainly hit northern Luzon, while easterlies will bring rains and thunderstorms to the rest of the country.
“Currently, the frontal system is still affecting a large part of the northern Luzon area, bringing scattered rains, thunderstorms, and lightning to the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Batanes, and Cagayan,” Pagasa weather specialist Ana Clauren-Jorda in Filipino.
“On the other hand, easterlies are affecting the rest of our archipelago, bringing scattered rains and thunderstorms to parts of the Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, as well as parts of Surigao del Sur and Davao Oriental,” she added.
The Pagasa official also said that Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have rain showers due to easterlies and localized thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, Pagasa said no low-pressure area or weather disturbance was monitored inside and outside the country’s area of responsibility. /MR/abc
