MANILA, Philippines — The state weather bureau’s monitoring stations in Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur are expected to log the country’s highest heat index on Tuesday.

In its forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said its monitoring stations in Daet, Camarines Norte, and CBSUA Pili, Camarines Sur, may log a heat index of 45°C, respectively.

A heat index of 45°C falls well within the so-called “danger” threshold, as it may cause “heat cramps, heat exhaustion,” and even “heat stroke with continued exposure.”
